Via NEUSHA, this program describes the IDEA, 504 and IEP as it applies to school nursing. School nurses will be able to identify the National Association of School Nurses (NASN) resources for supporting their work with students who have IEPs and 504s. Created 10/31/24.

It was recorded on 12/19/24 as part of the 2024-2025 webinar series sponsored by Professional Software for Nurses, Inc. (PSNI) with accreditation by the Northeastern University School Health Academy (NEUSHA).

Despite the availability of effective medical interventions and therapies for type 2 diabetes, their utilization remains limited. This program aims to increase competency in the treatment of type 2 diabetes and its complications and improve the care of individuals living with type 2 diabetes through four case studies.

Medical interventions and therapies for weight management have proven impactful, but these methods remain underutilized by clinicians. This program will increase knowledge of current management and prevention strategies for diabetes and weight management, including lifestyle and medical therapies, effective counseling techniques, and the role of incretin therapy.

PIK's Opioid Overdose Prevention Program (OOPP) provides individuals at-risk for overdose, their family members, friends, loved ones, and professionals with naloxone kits, education, and training on how to prevent, recognize and respond appropriately to an opioid overdose. The OOPP covers the seven northern counties of New Jersey: Morris, Essex, Passaic, Warren, Sussex, Hudson, and Bergen. Classes are held both in-person and via Zoom.

NJ RN license renewal requirement is every 2 years.

Each licensee must complete a minimum of 30 contact hours of continuing education contact hours during the two-year period preceding renewal. For example, in order to renew a license in May 2019, a licensee must have completed 30 contact hours of continuing education contact hours between June 1, 2017 and May 31, 2019.
